Fraud Suspect Evades Police by Jumping off Fourth-Floor Balcony

The Trump administration announced criminal charges against 15 alleged fraudsters on Thursday, accusing the group of scamming taxpayers out of $90 million in what prosecutors called the “largest autism fraud scheme ever.” One of the suspects was so committed to evading capture that he risked his life to avoid arrest.

Accused criminal Muhammad Omar leaped off a fourth-story balcony in his bid to elude the FBI, barreling to the ground before somehow hobbling away relatively unharmed. The first moments of his daring escape were caught on camera.

Omar is accused of stealing more than $3.6 million by filing false Medicaid claims while running a pair of Minnesota home health care companies. Feds say he used $150,000 of the “fraudulently obtained” funds to invest in real estate in Nairobi, Kenya, and $60,000 to lease a Mercedes-Benz. Law enforcement captured him hours after his jeopardous jump.
