Israel’s War Kills More U.S. Troops
U.S. Central Command announced the deaths of three more American service members in the Middle East over the weekend. The killings increased the U.S. fatality count in the Iran War to at least 17.
The unidentified soldiers died during a wave of Iranian attacks in Jordan. The strikes were the result of the U.S. refusing to make a good-faith effort to comply with the now-broken Iran memorandum of understanding. The agreement called for a ceasefire in Lebanon, but Washington made no real effort to push Israel to withdraw its forces from the country. The White House could have used its leverage to engineer a different outcome, but instead chose to let the Israelis call the shots.
As this conflict continues, it is important for Americans to remember how we got here. This entire saga is the result of our leaders putting Israel’s interests before those of the United States. The longer they continue to do so, the more U.S. troops will die.
